Privacy policy
Effective date: 2026-09-30. Change log: 2026-09-30, first version of this policy; it replaces the earlier 2018 policy and adds advertising, consent, analytics and crash reporting.
Who this policy covers
This policy covers the App Visionaire Android info apps: HabitZone: Success & Happiness and Writing, Blogging & Make Money, and any future apps listed on this site as covered by it. The controller is App Visionaire, a trading name of XIMPL V.O.F. (KvK 54303613).
The short version
- There are no accounts and no sign-in. The apps never ask for your name, email address or contacts.
- Bookmarks and settings stay on your device.
- The apps show ads (Google AdMob), and use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, ads personalisation and analytics only happen if you consent.
- We do not sell personal data.
What the apps do
Content
Articles, resources and categories are loaded from Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore). As with any network request, Google processes your device’s IP address to deliver the content. Google acts as our processor for this. Firebase also receives a technical identifier of the app version and SDK (the Firebase user agent), which is not linked to you or your device.
Data stored only on your device
Bookmarks, your theme choice, ad-frequency counters and cached content are stored on your device only. They are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
“Today’s saying”
The app fetches a daily quote from Enlightenso’s public API, an App Visionaire service hosted by Render. The request carries your IP address and the app’s standard browser identifier (your device model and Android version). Opening the card takes you to app.enlightenso.com, which has its own privacy policy.
Links
Links in the apps open third-party websites in your browser (Chrome Custom Tabs). Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Images
Article images load directly from the websites that published them. Those sites receive your IP address and device information, as with any web request, and have their own privacy policies.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The apps show interstitial and native ads served by Google AdMob.
- Consent. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, a consent message from Google’s User Messaging Platform (an IAB TCF v2.2 consent management platform) asks for your consent first. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options in the app. Without consent, ads are limited or non-personalised, as Google’s policies allow.
- Data. AdMob may process your advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and your interactions with ads. Google acts as an independent controller for its own advertising purposes. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and manage your Google ad settings.
Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
We collect app-usage events, for example which kind of item was opened and its category, and screen views, together with an app-instance identifier. This helps us understand which content is useful.
- Analytics is off by default when the app starts (Google Consent Mode v2). In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it only switches on after you give consent in the consent message, and you can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Privacy options. Elsewhere, where consent isn’t required, it switches on after the app checks your region.
- The apps don’t let Google Analytics collect the advertising ID.
- When analytics is on, Google Analytics works out your approximate location (country, region, city) from your IP address; it doesn’t store the IP address itself.
- Event-level analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months.
Crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics)
If the app crashes, we receive the crash trace. Crashlytics also receives non-fatal error reports and session information (when the app starts and stops, to measure stability). With these we receive your device model and OS version, the app version and a Crashlytics installation identifier. We use this to keep the apps stable. This data is kept for 90 days.
Legal bases (GDPR article 6)
- Consent: personalised ads and analytics.
- Legitimate interest: crash reporting, non-personalised or limited ads that fund free apps, and security.
- Necessary to provide the service: delivering content to the app.
International transfers
Google may process data outside the EEA. Such transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time (Settings → Privacy options in the app).
Because there are no accounts, the data we and our providers hold is tied to device identifiers. To limit or remove it you can reset your Android advertising ID in your device settings and clear the app’s data or uninstall it. To make a request, email dpo [at] appvisionaire.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
If you contact us
If you email support [at] appvisionaire.com or dpo [at] appvisionaire.com, including through the “Contact support” row in the apps (which adds the app name and version to the email subject), we process your email address and your message to answer you. We keep them only as long as needed for that purpose. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing support, or, for privacy requests under the GDPR, a legal obligation.
Children
The apps are not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
No sale of personal data
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for money, other than the ad processing described above.
